Community Partners

Providing help when help is needed is a team effort. Fisherman’s Mark Free MARKet is fortunate to work with a number of dedicated and generous partners throughout the community, from large grocery stores to small markets, farm-based organizations, and other nonprofits. A day doesn’t go by when we’re not engaged with them: picking up orders, receiving deliveries, collaborating on cooking demonstrations, providing nutritional guidance to our program participants. Their contributions are integral to making Fisherman’s Mark a vital resource in our community.

Large Grocery Stores

Giant

Giant Food Stores, LLC donates groceries to our Free Market each month. They help to keep our shelves stocked so that we can continue to provide food support to our program participants.

McCaffrey's

McCaffrey’s  gives bread, pastry and cooked meals to our Free Market twice per week. Its cooked meals are particularly welcome to program participants who don’t have a kitchen.

Shop Rite

Shop Rite offers special discounts to Fisherman’s Mark. We order from them weekly to keep our inventory updated.

Local Markets

Basil Bandwagon

Basil Bandwagon is a local market that donates to our Free MARKet each week. They were a tremendous support during Covid. We missed them terribly when the had to shut down after Hurricane Ida, and celebrated their reopening.

Kimberton Whole Foods

Kimberton Whole Foods donates groceries weekly. It is our only supplier of items that are gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan.

Produce Partners

America's Grow a Row

Grow-a-Row provides  fresh produce weekly from August through October. With their guidance, we have learned delicious and healthy ways to use end-of-life produce, avoiding food waste and increasing the range of our offerings.

Rolling Harvest Food Rescue

Rolling Harvest Food Rescue donates produce to the Free MARKet each week. Most of their produce is organic and fresh. These products would likely not be affordable to our program participants.

Other Nonprofit Agency Partners

United Way of Hunterdon County

United Way of Hunterdon County donates diapers to our Free MARKet. We provide space for its VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program in our Wilson Street office. We share program information, refer clients and participate in one another’s events.

NORWESCAP

Norwescap’s Food Bank provides over two million pounds of food each year to over 100 food pantries, shelters, and childcare centers in three New Jersey counties. Its great buying power allows us to purchase food at greatly reduced prices.
